No gondolas there. Respect. What a proud peak.

Valery has opened up some of the most hardcore sites on the planet. A pioneer no doubt.

His flight was a bit wobbly... I wonder if there were strong winds?

Anyone know his exit and landing altitudes?

I like the opening test he makes just after the exit to be sure he will be able to do it well when he needs. Very safe procedure Smile

Sounds like Red Bull needs to hire a new fact checker before claiming new world records. Somebody who might, you know, pick up the book and make sure something is a record before issuing press releases.
Whoops

Record or not it's an epic achievement. Congrats Valery!

Baumgartner set the world record for the lowest BASE jump ever, from the hand of the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.

He became the first person to BASE jump from the completed Millau Viaduct in France on 27 June 2004
or the french/swiss expedition to South Pole BASE jumping. A great adventure, but not the first BASE in Antarctica.

He looks like he was almost diving some, might have been crazy winds. Looks like its fairly windy on landing as well. Epic jump world record or not.

Not to mention above 5000Metre the air is only half as dense. Probably felt a little different off launch.

I like how he just jumps off and the rest of his gear team has to climb back down for 3 more days. Hahaha
