Heliboogie, Swiss Valley, Italian Wall
I'm surprised there is so little chatter about the Heliboogie coming up. Is everybody waiting till the last minute to book, or is it so nonchalant that it doesn't rate posting? I'm going to the Swiss Valley after the boogie, and then the ITW after that. I was in Brento last year, so I've got that set up down, but I've never been to Lauterbrunnen and I was hoping to find some jumpers there that wouldn't mind showing some exit points and lending tips to a new jumper to the area. If there are any solo jumpers like me that would like to jump together, that'd be great too.

Normally there are shitloads of jumpers having the same plan like you (or at least the Heliboogie -> LB part) so most likely you will have no problems to find people to jump with in LB. And regardless if the people come from Kjerag or not, that´s more or less the peak time of the high season in LB so there will be lots of jumpers around. Just go to the Horner bar and you will find people to speak with.

Thanks, Maretus. That was my intention, but it's still nice to try to get as much info ahead of time, and maybe connect with a few likeable souls before hand. If anybody is willing to PM me about exits and logistics in Lauterbrunnen, I'd appreciate it. Also, I'm driving from Zurich Sunday evening if people need a ride. Then off to Brento Saturday. Has anybody stayed at the Rosa Chalet? What did you think? Thanks, all.

Reagrding exits, please read : http://www.basejumper.ch/...mp;id=4&Itemid=1 and the overview http://www.basejumper.ch/...Valley_Jump_Info.pdf. This should give you a fair idea about the exits in the valley and their suitability to your skill level.

Regarding logistics, you do not need a car to any of the exits in LB valley. There are trains and/or cable cars going up every half an hour to both sides of the valley. The hikes up to "basic exits" (exc. buffalo, Jungfrau and the Mushroom) vary from 5min to about an hour. Hiking back from the landing area takes something from 5min to about half an hour. Depending on how long you stay, you can either buy a month pass to the whole valley or buy single tickets or 6 ride punch cards to the trains and cable cars.

Never stayed at Chalet Rosa but 2 places jumpers normally stay are the Horner Bar http://www.hornerpub.ch/ or Chalet im Rohr http://www.chaletimrohr.ch/. Rohr is a bit cheaper per night and it also has a shared kitchen with fridges so you can cook your own food and have your own beers in cold.

What is it? Please give me a link where about these tickets can be read. I wrote the question in the background of the region, and they told me that there is only one time and monthly travel cards.
I plan to be in the Valley June 9-12 and the monthly pass is expensive for me.

And since I got into this topic. I jumped in the Valley in early May, but I know only Dumpster and Yellow Ocean. I'd love to know about exit Mushroom. Maybe some people that know this exit are planing to be in the Valley on the same date as me?

I don´t know about a link but you can buy a 6 ride punch card to the train up to Wengen and the Grutschalp - Winteregg -connection from the Lauterbrunnen train station ticket office and to the Stechelberg - Gimmelwald - Murren -connection from the cable car station at Stechelberg. Also the handy thing is that if you have the half fare travel card, you also get -50% off from the punch card.

If you plan to be in LB early June, can be that the hike up to mushrooms requires still heavy alpine gear (read crampons, ice axes, maybe ice screws, ropes etc.). The winter here has been extremely harsh and there is still shitloads of snow everywhere high up. At least last weekend when I looked at it the hike up to Mushrooms was fully covered in snow and I wouldn´t try it with out proper gear (and knowledge of how to use it).

What dates is the heliboogie? When are you going to be in LB because I'll be solo there starting the 11th of June. PM me some details. I'd be down to travel around by car.
