I think almost all the cameras on As like that are recording only and not being monitored live. This means that if nothing happens (stuff stolen/ shit broken /etc), then the footage never gets watched. These usually record for a certain window of time before deleting old footage (ex. only would have access to past week of footage). The risks to antennas and things like that are usually very low and due to copper/etc theifs so this method works well for what they use it for, but for BASE jumpers it really doesn't do anything. If you wanted to be doubly safe, wear a mask, go in front of the camera...dance about...rattle the fences a little and then leave but when you do leave behind something that would let you know if a person entered or exited the building that houses the camera equipment. If it hasn't been tripped then you know that you really don't have much to worry about, although you might still want to wear a mask going by the camera in case something happened and they knew about the BASE jump and might review the footage. And also, obviously, leave no trace.
-just my newbie $0.02 ---I've walked right in front of and done illegal things in front of very very many cameras like that without issue...and a family member has experience installing surveillance systems for local businesses/city/police (I think)/etc and many of them work the same way.
