Re: [mrwatson] S/L malfunctions
once climbed over the rail on a low bridge and looked down to see that both pieces of breakcord got loose somehow, and i was not attached to the bridge anymore. lessons learned: always back up the surgeons knot with a few normal knots, because otherwise they might get loose......

friend of mine ripped a bridle because of a bad cwy-construction that needed too much force to break the breakcord. and another friend once entangled his leg in the bridle when jumping. (video and photos here: http://www.watchthybridle.com/...01/staticline-jumps/ )

snagged a cwy setup one or two times, found it at the base of the object again.
never had a premature release yet.

Re: [seekfun] S/L malfunctions
Haven't had a malfunction on a s/l but had a sequence of calamities...
- dropped tailgate bungee (for bridle control) while folding bridle.
- dropped second (and last) tailgate bungee whilst pulling from pocket
- climbed up to other jumper (we were doing a 2-way s/l from 90deg different sides) to get ANOTHER bungee, subsequently dropped on the climb back down
- cut the elasticated thumb from my glove and fashioned a make-shift bungee
- then proceeded to pop a pin doing a final (now nervous) gear-check after s/l was set up
- had to cut the s/l, take off gear and close pin with spare s/l tape
- in the process of setting up the s/l again the makeshift bungee broke
- jumped with excess bridle in my hand (released on exit)

for every jump after that I've taken a pocket full of bungees and extra s/l tape

Re: [irish_rob] S/L malfunctions
try the apex method, it gets the extra bridle out of the way so you dont have to mess around on an object trying to control your bridle. ive tried it and it worked great.

Re: [irish_rob] S/L malfunctions
Take your pc off and thread a 'tailgate' rubber band down the bridle and leave it there, that way you won't drop it trying to S fold the excess bridle.

Thanks both for the info.
Like the bungee-on-bridle idea!

Re: [irish_rob] S/L malfunctions
I have dropped a couple of rubber bands, or forgot them, and thats when I decided to just leave it on the bridle.
