Hey guys

was reading the forum discussion on kids and BASE and some other posts that had some heated arguments going on over when it's acceptable to start etc..

But these arguments never really had much of a conclusion so I thought maybe a poll will give some idea of the most popular road to getting started in BASE.

I hope everyone sees this to be an acceptable poll.

I like how 36 years old until the end of time is the top level for age and how 301 plus skydives encompasses everything from 301 to many thousand.

I had more than 301 skydives and my very first BASE jump was in the 31 to 35 range.

If there were more options i would have included more numbers but I think the difference between 100 and 200 or 300 is more important than the difference between 1500-1600 or 1700. could be wrong though

I think there is a huge difference between 300 jumps and 1500! just as wind tunnel rats quickly learn how to skydive, highly experienced jumpers transition to BASE must faster.

but what do I know?

Granted you do know WWAYYYYYYYYYYYY more than me, I totally agree with you.

What I meant is that the 100 jump difference between 200-300 is more important than the 100 jump diff between 1500-1600.

Point taken on board though, probably wasn't the best idea giving such limited options. sorry!

Currently...23 YO, 900 skydives 250 base. Owe everything in my jumping career to the people who have helped me along the way.

first BASE jump at 59, had just under 200 skydives, now 63 and eligible for retirement in a few years. i plan to spend some time in europe learning to track like a maniac, and would like to taste different flavors of south american women in their early 20's as well as a multitude of exotic hallucinogenic cactus/plants

I made my first BASE jump in 2004, when I was 22. Only had about 200-300 skydive at the time. But I quit for idiotic reasons. Now I am 29 with 1200 skydives and going to pick up base jumping again. I only had 3 BASE jumps under my belt back then. Now I am attending the FJC in June.

It's going to be a blast!

43 yrs. 1700 skydives now 47 yrs. and 3200 skydives and 209 base jumps ....

Started BASE and skydive at 18. BASE after 47 skydives.

My 6-200 BASE jumps were done alongside the same amount of skydives and numbers of paraglider and speed glider flights.

Skydive and BASE at 18. Started BASE with 320 skydives. Now I am 22 with 2200 skydives and 420 BASE.

34 years, 4 years into skydiving, around 800 jumps. Spent around 1 year to take the decision of purchasing my gear (Thanks Fastpete)

Have 200+ skydives, first Base jump at 48. It was between a new shinny red car or a base rig. Sure glad I bought that rig.

Fun jumped for 500 jumps. then got my tandem and AFFI rating. Worked instructing and doing video jumps since with the occasional fun jump . BASE jumping was my fun and escape from work and school spending summers while in college traveling the US jumping. Having a few local elevator towers helped my numbers too!

24 years old. over 1000 skyjumps. base jumping went against a lot of my built-in defenses. now 52 and 3400 skydives, but only about 50 base jumps.

now I have 946 skydives, 333 base
85 objects, 36 of which I opened
40 of those objects, i only have one jump from

Started potato chipping outta a Cessna while in college @ age 21.....I know have almost 600 skyjumps, coach rating, tandem rating......started floppin off shit at age 24.5 yrs old....Now 25.5 yrs old and currently have 51 jumps with 12 objects. I have had a bitchin time and wont be stopping anytime soon.

you should think about upgrading to a base canopy
