FJC price norway
hi
i googled a bit to see where i would like to do my fjc in future and i found this price list

http://www.basekjerag.com/...069A366?OpenDocument

it says that it costs 2500 NOK for the course, which is about 300 euro (400 usd) ...is that right or is the price list outdated since that seems very cheap. would be great if the curse would be only 300 euro !

As of 11.01.2012 that is still the price they take for the FJC :)

Re: [michael406] FJC price norway
wow nice !
is that the full curse ? with theory + jumps + packing etc
?

i have looked around a bit and some other curses are over 1000 euros so it seemed a bit strange that this one would only be 300 euros...

we have developed one of the best base courses for terminal jumping in the world

traditionally, it is a course designed with Kjerag in mind. the course is NOT about low objects.

they also charge gear rental, which (I believe) is frequently included in other courses.

the best thing is to e-mail whoever you are considering as instructors. if you hit it off with a particular instructor, that might be your best option. getting along greatly facilitates learning.

No. 2,500 is theory, packing course is extra 1000, transport for jumps is 70 each way.

It's all on the list.

Re: [jakee] FJC price norway
Does that mean I have to pay 140 NOK per jump only for transport? Or do I buy a punchcard with 10 rides for 70 NOK?
from the homepage:
'Punch card with 10 rides. Unused clips will be refunded.'

punch card will need to be punched once per van ride, and once per boat ride. You will need a van ride every time and a boat ride almost every time (unless you are jumping Smellvaggen).

Of course during the Heliboogie you should only need to pay for a single boat ride, but those chopper rides are a bit on the pricey side :)

Re: [vid666] FJC price norway
So a punch card with ten rides costs 70 or 700 NOK?

Everything in Norway is expensive. Use this information to arrive at the correct conclusion.

70 NOK = $12.08
$12 buying 10 of anything in Norway would be rare.
if true, who would worry about a refund for unused spots on their ticket?

Re: [wwarped] FJC price norway
I know the odds are against it, but on the other hand 140 NOK seems a little steep for a short bus and boatride that you're gonna take maybe 3 times a day together with 10 other jumpers.
I received a pm telling me that they charge 70 NOK for 10 rides just to cover the gas costs.

Re: [biker117] FJC price norway
Well the thing about kjerag, Is its a Klubb,

Someone has to pay the vans fuel and the boats fuel and to pay the rent on the klubb that sits in a very good buyers market in a small fjord town...

Also for the upkeep of the boats and the vans and to teach people to jump there safely...

If its too expensive maybe you should start a school in africa where its cheaper,

But then again base jumping aint cheaper then skydiving as we are all aware..

You can skydive 10 times a day in a plane with ~15 other jumpers. How much does a jump ticket cost?
