Radio for Kjerag
Hi,

I am planning a trip to Kjerag this summer. I learned from Patto's Kjerag article that I should bring a two-way Motorola radio with US encoding. I am in the US now and was planning to pick up a radio, but I see a lot of bad reviews from users wrt both range and quality.

Any advice on models that have proven a good tradeoff between size and quality for this particular use would be greatly appreciated.

Patto asked me to bring a bunch of these over to the BASE klub last year. They seemed to work fine.

i bougth these and they worked great, dont forget to bring a zip loc bag so that when you go into the water they survive!

its a pair, so if you need to sell one you can. easy to sell out there.

I have been looking at this one http://www.motorola.com/...s/Talkabout%20MS350R
Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/...691&sr=1-1-spell

And as far as I can see it's the same as the MR-series but it's waterproof and floats.

remember kjerag is salt water, enver know what effect that would have on it.

I went for the the one Lonnie suggested, as that seem to be the smaller one. They come two in the box, so if I end up in the water the radio is not my primary concern...

I don't think that would matter for the time you spend in the water.
But the salt could wear on the seals if you don't wash it I guess.

But I did not only have Kjerag in mind when I wrote itSmile
