Wingsuit with BaseR
Anyone here jump with BaseR container with a wingsuit? It's a base container with a front mount round reserve that is TSO'd. It can be jumped from a plane without issue in the US. I'm interested in getting into wingsuit jumping but I don't want to invest in a complete skydiving system that I'm only going to use for wingsuit training for BASE jumps. If I could leverage a TSO'd base rig, that would be great. However, having a belly mount reserve seems like it would screw up your wingsuit flight. Anyone here wingsuited with a belly mount on?

i have never jumped the baser or belly mount with wingsuit. i would get a super cheap old rig that isnt free fly friendly but fine for wingsuit.i picked up a 94 talon with an older spectre main. i bought it complete for 800. not worth the hassle i think to do the belly mount thing IMHO. good luck if u try it and let us know how it works.

thats funny, i just picked up a 94 talon classic myself, which i bought STRICTLY for wingsuiting and my tracksuit...........i paid 450 with shipping, and honestly someone took really good care of this thing.

i can appreciate wingsuit BASE training in a more forgiving environment, but thats what balloons and tandem paragliders are for! in skydiving i say just get a cheap deidicated wingsuit rig. only my opinion though

BASE #27 is planning on bringing one back from the states to WS with.

I don't like the idea of having to pack a bulky base canopy every time I do a skydive. Skydive rigs for skydiving and BASE rigs for base.

I don't mind packing a base canopy for skydiving. It should only take about 15 minutes so it's not a big deal. Plus, it gives me more practice with the canopy I would actually use on technical landing areas on base jumps.

I know a few very good wing suit pilots (skydive and BASE) who used one to skydive with. Each said the chestmount was surprisingly unnoticeable.

thinking outside the box...it might keep you pinned head down a bit..adding to speed...but that might be negligible compared to how it changes the wing profile
