hey all, just letting you know the numbers are up to 1580 now, i just got mine today! im really excited... THANKYOU to everyone that has helped me out along this journey! it has been amazing to say the least,and thank you rick and joy for keeping this tradition alive!

Was about 1530 at the beginning of september. That's more than I expected in that timeframe.

Highest BASE #: 1580
Highest BFL #: 182

Ratio: 8.7 <--- Wow.

Historically, it's been averaging at about 11...

unfortunately while almost every BASE fatality ends up on the BFL, a pretty large number of people do not get a BASE #, so the ratio is extremely inaccurate

True, but the changes in this number still reflect changes in fatality rate.

I remember attempting to estimate ratio of all jumpers to jumpers with #'s by doing a poll with a simple question: Do you have a BASE #? It was something like 1.4.

Probably a better way to determine this ratio would be to categorize BFL in two buckets: with and without #'s, but that's something only Rick and Joy can do.
