Looking for people with experience on sub 300 ft positive cliffs
The subject line pretty much says it all.

I am looking for good information on what is a jumpable profile for a sub 300 foot cliff.

Any info appreciated, especially from those folks that actually jump these things, I hear you do exist.

thanks
Sam

We have jumped an 125ft cliff with few (about 3m) meters positive shape with PCA. First you jump forward a lot, then the canopy falls on to a sloping but smooth ledge before the momentum of the jumper drags it off the cliff. Then you feel like you are to scrape your feet and ass to the positive rock (and one small pine branch growing on it, not the one in the photo), untill at last 2 seconds the canopy has some forward speed to fly off from the wall. Pop the toggles and flare, or with the rears. Scary but fun.

Did a few jumps from a 200ft positive cliff. Freefalled it so I could get a run up. Stopped jumping there because every single time I did something would fuck up.

All depends how positive and how far down. If you can run fast enough it should be fine. I've sl some mildly positive low cliffs as well and Agree with what's been said above, you can also use an anchor that hangs over the edge to tie off to so you have some more distance from the wall.

Dude... This sounds like the most balls out jump I've even heard of!

It sure does! I also think the jumper in that picture looks pretty cool, and handsome. With skills like his (seems obvious) I'd be willing to bet he's made tip toe landings every time he has jumped that mean little cliff. Great sense of style, too. Cool

Wait for it to snow and then ski off it!

Snow is not a problem, there's plenty of it. The landing is a flat lake ice, so it is a bit sudden stop...

Kege and I started around Memorial Day 2006.
We both took Tom A. courses at the Perrine and
both got injured while doing so, his was legit, I
think a boulder-pelvis landing, mine was a weak
down winder on the beach where I sprained my
thumb and frightened my vagina, he got good
drugs, I got teased, but he is a cool dude
so he shared a few with me.

As for the 125 feet of scary baby cliff you freaks,
both male and female, are jumping in winter, well
all I can say is wow and I want to visit. My lowest
tard is currently a 180 feet B, I want to tard an E
so I can have un-packed BASE (I get the irony).

I don't understand what the fuss regarding our 38m / 125ft cliff is all about... It is the famous finnish big wall at the end of the day. :) Mr. Green, if you want to TARD an E, we should go up north to the finnish "medium size" wall. It is a bit lower (33m / 108ft) but not at all that gnarly as the big one. It is only positive for the first couple of meters but then has a nice overhanging roof and is overhung all the way to the LZ. Or at least vertical. :)

I can maybe dig some videos later one, should have some stuff from both of the cliffs somewhere on my hard drives.

2:15 into the following vid my friend does a static line from a positive cliff followed by myself doing a rollover from the same cliff. The cliff is vertical for the first 75' then there is a ledge that juts out ten to 15' followed by another 160' of vertical drop. From there it is a slight decline to the lz about a quarter to half mile away.
