That's a lot of people walking up that hill. It would be easy to smuggle a rig up there...

In reply to:
"But at the same time we're having to preserve and protect the park for future generations and provide for a positive visitor experience, because the National Parks belong to the American people."
that's funny, they say the parks belong to the american people, but they are trying to say the majority of people cant even go up there

You heard the man, those people walking on the trail to the top damage the park irreparably. I can't even imagine what ecological horrors someone would create if they didn't even walk back down. Oh the humanity!

If you're listening to any government employee communicate in any official capacity, chances are that you're being fed a line of useless bullshit. Make sure to gobble it up like the good citizen we want you to be and be sure not to not ask any questions along the way.

When you have one of those morons standing in front of you claiming that you might impact someones quality wilderness experience.... all the while watching a thousand people headed to the top... of ANY of their trails.. whether it be in Yossemite.. or the trail to the top of Lasses....you just have to shake your head and realize that the Idiocracy is well on its way.

Face it.. the keepers of the Pet Rocks..... really have no clueCrazy

Theyve required permits for the last year to go up there, not sure what the current number is.

Sure, once I finish reading the entire thing and have time to calm down my bullshit gag reflex.

I highly doubt the NPS gives a shit about what the public has to say about their policies though... the government knows what's best, as evidenced by 132 pages of rationale they've posted for our review regarding the land management decision they've already made.

The best way to preserve "opportunities for solitude" in the park (which seems to be a priority in the NPS planning process given how often they mention it) would be to fence it all off and station armed sentries who shoot trespassers on site, and not just with tazers either. Then the NPS can hold a lottery where we buy tickets for the chance to enter Yosemite all by ourselves for a random hour/minute/day/etc to appreciate the glorious solitude...
