Re: [gauleyguide] Intro
Profile updated.
Gone through the articles and taking my time and enjoying the threads. Theres a lot of great reading to be found here. Thanks again for all that goes/has gone into that.
I am in no rush, so I'm taking everything in and formulating an intelligent plan. From what I gather so far, a FJC sounds like a smart investment and good place to start after I do some more research.
I plan on taking a slow progression mostly because I am not stupid or immature. But I'd also like to enjoy what I am engaged in... especially in the beginning when it's all "so new." I enjoy learning and never had the ego issues being associated with being a "noob." I made some great friends over the years while jumping because they reached out to this noob when I needed it and I am better off for it in many ways (not to mention still alive).
I think back to those first days of skydiving where all I could think about was the sport and the people. I'm well aware of the dangers and how much this sport can cost a person. I have lost a few really good friends jumping and its a fu*king pain we all chose to suffer through. I am aware this sport will afford more of the same. But I have stood atop Half Dome, El Cap, and a few other places and said to myself, "one day." And I'm a man of my word.
I am in the process of selling my rig and can borrow a rig with a large canopy inside until it is time for a BASE rig. Thanks for the canopy drills and related info.
I prefer to NOT be ass raped with or without sand.
