Fastest B.A.S.E.
Ive been thinking lately, and I have a unique opportunity to not only get base in a day, but to do it in order very rapidly. I know many have done BASE in a day, but what does anyone one think is the shortest total time, legitimate objects, I guess i dont really care about unpacked, packed, or static line because I think three of mine will be static line, legal or illegal. Just feel like doing it because its something fun to do, and I like a good challenge. Should be able to go sub 4 hours if all goes well. Any thoughts? Basejumper.com - archive

I believe that Dwain and D-Dog did it in around 3 hours once in Portland. There should still be some old threads floating around somewhere that tell the story, from when they did it. They used four rigs each (so they didn't have to pack) and had ground crew to drive from one object to the next. I think they were inspired to do it by some guys in Phoenix who did it in 24 hours. Those guys had a much cooler adventure, though. Rather than just quickly popping around to regular objects in town they were doing things like flying a small plane out to their cliff, jumping their BASE gear slider up and landing behind it, and then reconfiguring and repacking for the E jump. I think they did it all on one rig each, too.
If memory serves, the Portland jumps were not done in order (B-A-S-E) but the Arizona jumps were.

Yeah 1 rig, The idea is that those with 3 or 4 rigs do not have a huge advantage over the guy with 1.
No real idea on a finish time at the moment.
New Year seemed the logical cutoff unfortunately it has been pretty much un-jumpable for a month or more in the UK so no one has had a crack yet.

Bill and I did it in 3 hours and 22 minutes using multiple rigs and an airplane, like Tom said. B-A-E-S. The Portland crew (Dwain, Slim, The Dr. and another guy) did it a few weeks later in under 3 hours. They've all quit BASE jumping for one reason or another since then.

Thats awesome history, thanks a lot. Portland does seem like it an optimal place. my ASE are within 5 minutes of each other and conveniently downhill in that order, might need to find a closer building to beat that.

that brings a tear to my eyes since The Dr. (was my student) and the others are deceased. Anyone have a photo of Dwain surfing a longboard with his dog riding the front?

Dwain was kind of petite, and Dd0g kinda BIG,, 3 hours seems kinda long,,Dwain musta been sore and that Dd0g musta been on Cocaine or sumthin.. any critters involved??.
i think i'll stay away from Portland even if doug is in the "Pokey", im not sure i like the way people do stuff up there?~?~?

HEY hey , you cant fault all of us, for one sick piece of shit sneaking into the bunch & stinking things up . Dj (higgins) was the other jumper . there were 6 of us that started the load & we all exited off Crown but No Way In Hell all 6 of us could have gotten away with it in that time .
went from crown point strait to a little -150' 4-guy-wire tower, to a -150' bridge . static-line off little building & landing in gas station parking lot .

No fucking way anyone will ever do all 4 objects in less time than that even with multiple packed Rigs . The jumps were all low, fast & on the Run . it was coordinated also . I think it took all of 1-1/2 days to coordinate it & pull it off ...LOL . Back then we were all jumping like a pack of mad dogs & nothing was off limits . & I really never thought it was that big a deal doing it, they were dragging-ass & taking there time .

OK . Looks like on the Link to BLINC you provided info is lacking . So got to Clear a few things UP . & 1st . the Dog breeder was Not there & Not on the load .
Our former tribe leader Slim ( was not there) he was back Down Under in his kangaroo luvin Motherland of AU . after finishing up his Masters & working for the world forest center .
Having jumped ship here like a Rat . Slim moved-in Dwain for a few years here as the new Aussy. troublemaker & representative .
DJ's Log confirmed Date, details & time . & details in my Log say was Jump # 399 for me that day .
There were 4 of us that started on Crown & I backed-out because there were to many people to make the record happen efficiently & without getting busted .
date was : 7-1-01
the objects were : Crown point / Troutdale Tower / Burnside Building / st. Johns bridge
The 3 people on the Record were : ( DJ Higgins / Nick H. / Dwain W. )
time was : 1-Hour & 53-Minutes for B.A.S.E.

Hey Ray, when did the clock start? Was it when the first guy stepped off, or when they started at the base of the object? I agree it would be TOUGH to beat that,....but we have an area with all four objects within 5-7 mins of each other.

starts 1st person off the 1st object & end with last person off the 4th object . Easier chance for it all to workout in less time & maybe beat it . if it was just 1 guy hauling ass with drivers & Rigs all lined-up & ready to go .
3 people was really pushing it . Big chance for getting into trouble.
