AMSL altitude vs DBS
I'm wondering how big influence the elevation has on the DBS. If I set my DBS close to the stall at 4000' AMSL do I risk a collapse on let say 1000' AMSL with the same setting?

With how much altitude difference I can expect to feel a difference in the DBS?

The airspeed is a constant. This is why your canopy goes quicker & descends faster on a hot day in the high desert than it does on a cold day at sea level. Control inputs, with respect to stalls & DBS, will react the same, with respect to airspeed, no matter what altitude they are initiated. The altitude loss & speed over ground are the variables that will be affected with changes in density altitude.

Re: [p3h] AMSL altitude vs DBS
Over the past few weeks you have started several threads dissecting the subtle details of the same topic. Most of which is common knowledge to anyone with experience flying parachutes. This is a technical forum for people to ask questions pertaining to real challenges faced in the BASE environment. I commend your thirst for knowledge, but I think you should move your questions to the Beginning BASE forum. No disrespect bro, but its getting old.
