perigee pro owners
Could anyone PLEASE do me a favor, i would really appreciate it............

if you have those tertiary D-rings that are attached to your harness on your perigee pro, could you please either email, PM or post a picture of them?

i now own my first perigee pro and im not sure if the riser cover/mud flaps are normally this long........im hoping that marty can install the tertiary D-rings into my harness without having to alter the mudflaps. i have shot him an email but its xmas and im sure theres noone around.

im gonna be doing alot of speedwing cutaways this summer and i need those damned D-rings

Re: [TransientCW] perigee pro owners
yo,

there are at least 2 different types of separable D rings that I am aware of.

one type was meant to have a chest mount reserve clipped in, those may hang up a 3 ring release.

the other type is an actual RW8 D-ring, just with a separable connector

see a pic of Perigee II with the first type of ring attached
if you want to see others I can take a pic as well

The mudflaps are supposed to be that long, and your rig has a spot to connect the rings. opening the material.

Re: [TransientCW] perigee pro owners
As Jake said, you don't need the manufacturer to install anything. The loop to insert the tertiary ring is already present on your rig. You just need a separable ring, which you can slide through the loop on your harness and screw down.

I have a pair of the correct rings that I bought from Paragear a long time ago. I don't have time to search their catalog and find them, but I bet they still have them somewhere on there.

Re: [TransientCW] perigee pro owners
I think it is this one. It cant cause a 3 ring hangup since it has the proper "O" shape, not a "D" shape. And it is marked rw6 in The Handbook.

do they screw into place, or how exactly is the pin set? i need to find a set

Re: [TransientCW] perigee pro owners
A bolt screws in just like on L-Bars. All you need is a screwdriver. I have no idea where to get them, but I think TomA told me a while ago that DjAssociates might have them in stock, despite the fact that there are none in the catalog. Just call themTongue

Just get these ones, but you you will need to use mini ring risers.

Re: [uer16] perigee pro owners
I didn't think that anyone made RW6's anymore, I thought they were all left over from the manufacture defect a while back when they were used as a replacement. I wonder if you could use a separable D ring if you hack sawed the bar off the ring so the 3 ring release had more room to clear, as long as you were only doing paragliding flights off them, or rollovers for that matter.

Re: [ineed2fly] perigee pro owners
RW6 is correct, I mistyped RW8, sorry

I believe those came as a response to a batch of bad harness rings and were used as an easy in the field replacement.

I keep pulling those off older harnesses, all have a DOM of the early to mid 80's.

I am attaching a few pics, hopefully this will help

you can see that the O-ring has a single bar with a threaded end, as opposed to the D-ring has a open ended bar with a female end that gets screwed in from the outside. You can also see the big difference in size

Re: [theschrund] perigee pro owners
Ok, so now that we've got the D-ring sorted out, what have people been doing with the riser side of the speedwing cut-away? Have people been modifying their risers to mini 3-ring systems? Ordering new risers? Or something else? The wing I will be using is a three riser system, which eliminates the option of swapping them out for skydiving/base risers. If you have gems of cutaway knowledge please share!

I have very little to add except for :

why not use the triple risers that are no longer popular for skydiving ?

Re: [TransientCW] perigee pro owners
Just wondering if the loops at the bottom of the apex DP mudflaps under the mlw are also for this (tersh loops)? would be so much better using one of those drings to attach a caribiner/repel device to instead of the cheststrap also?

Re: [vid666] perigee pro owners
The 3rd riser looks like its much shorter than the other 2, and usually on a 3 riser glider the risers are different lengths for each section, so you would need to custom build a 3 riser with a 3 ring at the bottom for each different glider, or pick up a set of these adapters from me Wink

Re: [ineed2fly] perigee pro owners
not to mention that if one was to use your adapters they can use the easily obtainable L-bars instead of hard to find separable RW6 rings

Re: [vid666] perigee pro owners
Yup thats what works best for tying into the terch loops on the MLW. If youre attaching to your hip rings slinks or biners work just fine.
