What has the world come to when the average person's reaction to a BASE jump is to call 911? Sad.

Nonetheless, I live less than 2 hours from Pittsburgh and have never looked at Mt. Washington as jumpable. Just got word that this jump occurred around 1pm? WTF?

the WPXI report includes exclusive video from a cell phone. it is clearly daylight.

most reports like this on bj.com seem to be about jumpers passing through an area, desiring a jump, and not concerned about repercussions.

of course, statistics are not the same as facts.

Yeah. Also seems like in the wintertime, when it gets dark early, a lot of people are jumping too early making it easier to get caught

if you listen to the first witness and then read his quote, they did take some polite creative license in correcting his awful western pa grammar. I doubt they would extend similar courtesy if they were interviewing the offending base jumper.

Have been looking at that site for over a year. My grandparents live in the city and I just never got the chance to jump. Pretty sure I know the exit point and I am super jealous! Had to be such a bad ass canopy ride! Congrats to the jumper, but damn you for doing it during the day. :P Wish it was me!
