Alien Suits Technology
Does anybody knows anything about this wingsuitmanufactor? The have only a fb account. (No website). The Wingsuits design (G7,G5,G...) looks very interesting. Are this WS only testet from and for Skydiver? Or want they test them also in BASE invironment?

Sorry for my bad englishSmile

Re: [Stoecklda] Alien Suits Technology
the guy who makes them is here in Zephyr Hills. They have some cool ideas though some seem a bit gimmicky. They are priced between $2000 and $3000 and I believe they are made in Vietnam. The material is also meant to be super strong and I have jumped with a few of them and it moves quickly compared to my R-bird (could be my poor skills though - the owner is saying he got a flight time of 4:20 in the big one). Have been meaning to testjump one of them (G5 I think) but weather and other things have held me up. Will post back when I have. If they look cool :D

Pretty steep price for a ws if you ask me, especially one made in Vietnam (where I would expect the production cost to be significantly lower than in US or Europe). But for sure there are lot of people who will fork over the 3k´s if the guys have invented something which gives you additional 0.1 in GR over other comparable suits in the market. Interesting to see the suits once there is more info available.

This guy was originally from my DZ, from what I've seen they are not special and I doubt the 4.20 claim.

They also weigh about 4x (ass-proximate) as much as my Tony Raptor, that is already 3x the weight of my V3...

/likely never getting one

edit: but that was about 5 months ago I've seen one (in flight too by the owner/designer). maybe they're different now, I'll be happy to be corrected

On FB they write about spezial hightech materials. I don't know but i think there is a performance improvment. If these suits are 10times heavier as a PF suit I won't carry them to the Exit point.Wink I don't know what 4.20min means, for me it would be interesting to see flysight data or anything else.

Finally jumped one - it was an earlier proto with a G5 tail and G7 arm wings. Interesting suit. The arms are swept back a lot more than on Tony of Phoenix suits and seemed to require a lot more bicep input (I have never used any concentrated muscular effort on the R-bird, shadow or Phantom 2). The suit seemed super fast forward and was stable (same can not be said for my barrel rolls) and felt good on its back (far better than a Tony suit probably not as good as a Phantom 2). The pressureisation seemed about that same as a Phoenix fly suit but less than the Tony suits and the grippers are angled down about 45 degrees for the first few inches which was nice come pull time. I got a two minute first flight (I weigh bout 180 out the door and get 230-300 in my Rbird just cruising normally if that means anything). The suit itself is very heavy, maybe twice that of my Rbird but the stitching on the new ones seems very good and it seems to have some interesting approaches to things. It is not better or worse than the other suits but it is a bit different again.

While I have never taken a wingsuit BASE jumping I imagine it would be more useful in that world than in the flocking or acro world.

This opinion is worth what you paid for it ;)

Re: [dirtbox] Alien Suits Technology
I took a leap of faith and bought one without flying it because of the production time and materials. It arrives this week and will give you my first impression after I fly it this weekend. From the people I have talked to that have flown it, the consensus is it's really fast and stable, but not as responsive in turns as a V4. Not a flocking suit, but I don't flock and was looking for something good for the BASE environment. I plan on flying it all summer in Europe if I like it, otherwise I will probably order a Tony Suit S/X bird on rush.
