The EIFF Classic accuracy manual claims 22 MPH and suggests an ideal wing loading of .7 pounds/square foot (from .65 - .75).

Personal experience suggests that's around the wind speed where a Fox 245 runs out of forward drive when jumped out of a plane with an exit weight of 175-180 pounds although I don't have actual measurements.

Is it not largely dependent upon winds? What is the forward speed at standard atmospheric conditions in zero winds, if you have that variable you can then determine the forward speed of the canopy in any condition.

yep the forward speed is dependent on the winds..I should of asked just the speed of the canopy in full flight...witch is 22 mph...thanks

Speed will vary dramatically between different canopies.

A Rock Dragon, for example, is extremely slow, where a Seven is very fast.
