Just wondering what these peoples legal defense will be? Will they all be the same? Maybe we should be experimenting with different ways to defend ourselves and not just agree to their allegations. How about a legal defense strategy thread?
Obviously not getting caught is the smart way but I guess bad luck and stupidity can strike at anytime!

Why the hell would the Sheriffs department dispatch a Heli first to check on a possible suicide jumper? WTF are they gonna do when they get there, yell at her from a megaphone "Don't do, it cant be that bad"? I'm pretty damn sure a squad car would have gotten there faster. On another note... possible suicide jumper gets a heli on scene in twenty minutes. Guy dangling from tree, with possibility of falling 60' to life threatening injuries, 1 hour for ground personal to show up from 911 call and 2+ for the same heli.

The heli being sent for a possible suicide is not the issue, the issue is why are people so stupid to jump right in front of the heli. Common sense says if the birds in the air circleing above the object, Dont jump.

Isn't the penalty for jumping there pretty minimal? I have no clue why anyone would evade arrest for a "use of a bridge for recreational flight" ticket. It's not exactly a stiff misdemeanor or a felony. WTF?

If the helicopter is on to you, your caught.... They have all sorts of body heat cameras & night vision & a big ass spot light. Running just adds more charges.

If the Rotors after you you're probably fucked, they have FLIR, forward looking infrared.. Unless there's a significant heat source to hide in (like a herd of cows, mass of people, forest fire) you're incredibly easy to spot

Haven't had many, but last one was dismissed in Sacramento county. My results on misdemeanors overall are pretty good. I am a skydiver and will make good deals for BASE jumpers....

Strategy depends on charges. Usually some form of trespassing and resisting for those who run. If they totally have you nailed trying to negotiate a deferred entry of judgment with the possibility of dismissal. Or make a plea to the lesser charge with informal probation and a criminal record expungement after probation term. Good news is most of the charges BASE jumpers face can be removed from your record after a few years (at least in CA).
No attorney friends in Wisconsin, probably the closest would be NY or DC.
