BASE Beginners

First jump at Kjerag?
Okay, I've 335 skydives, a couple of wingsuit flights, nothing special.

I'd like to start simple BASE jumping and would like advice where to jump first.

From what I've heard, Kjerag has excellent facilities and is run almost like a BASE dropzone and is very good for beginners.

Can anyone point me to a website or contact details? I obviously have important questions such as:

1. Is there anywhere close to Kjerag where beginners can do a couple of skydives before their first BASE?

2. Do they hire BASE rigs for beginners?

3. Is there a type of ground school where jumpers are welcomed, are taught how to jump, where to track, best route for landing?

Or do I need to arrive with an experienced jumper as my 'coach'?

I'd be interested to here from anyone else who made their first jump here and what advice you can give me.

Yes they have a course and yes they rent gear. Here is their website. Here is a video of a guy taking their course.

Best advice I got about Kjerag is to go a week before the heli boogie, for walk ins, while you're doing the FJC.
Then do as many as they'll let you, during the heli boogie.

next best advice? take/have enough $$$$$$, they're wikings and you gotta pay em or you don't get to go homeLaugh

Yo man!
While I can confirm the top quality of the SBK FJC (and the high prices of Norway!!!), their hospitality and their great skills, my advice is to have your 1st approach to BASE jumping not off a cliff, but off a span. Since I read you know a "coach", I'd ask him to start the "course" off some span (if you are in the US you should know where to go...) before to go to Norway...
just my 2 cents...
Have fun, stay safe!!!

I had done some basejump before I went to Kjerag, I took a FJC there and they was very friendly and professional. The weather can be a bit unsteady in the beginning of the summer.
If you go there, read all at there webpage, You have to bring cash, there is no ATM and only one smal resturante.
