Actually, "We are the 0.0001 percent" is more accurate.

Your notion has some merit because:

a) it would ridicule the "real" Occupiers, who are effing morons; and

b) it would generate some short-term attention to the issue that we wouldn't otherwise get -- especially by using "We are the 0.0001 percent" because it riffs on the now-overused and tedious "We are the 1 percent."

There are two problems, though:

a) By associating us with the "real" Occupy movement, it would reinforce the notion that BASE jumpers are lawless, dirty hippie ***holes with no respect for anything because that is in fact what 99 percent of the Occupiers are; and

b) as the "real" Occupiers are already finding out, wintertime is a stupid time to be camping out with no clue or experience related thereto, a situation that would be amplified by doing it in Yosemite instead of a city park or plaza with nearby electricity and warm business establishments whose restrooms and heat you could steal under threat of vandalism.

All in all, your notion is about as well thought-out as the "real" Occupy movement, and most likely to be of precisely the same character: counterproductive.

Aware, but that's a terrible slogan.

Let's keep this on topic now...

This is what I'm suggesting. Jumping seems to be getting more and more mainstream everyday, but few stop to consider the ridiculousness of our plight. Let's go get us some media attention and public support!

I disagree with both parts of your statement. First: There's nothing lawless or dirty about protesting. It's a very legal action deeply rooted in American history. I doubt that we'd be met by any opposition but from the N.P.S. (oh, and maybe climbers, those guys are lame Unimpressed) Second: ...well I'd rather not go there cause I don't want some admin to move this to "the Hangout" or whatever Shocked

I was thinking more like spring, and I'm fairly experienced at camping Crazy

Not saying there's anything wrong or un-American about protesting per se... just that the OWSies are in general dirty, unkempt, undisciplined, unfocused, incapable of safely handling firearms or delousing themselves, and not exactly the kind of people with whom we'd want to voluntarily associate ourselves, y'know whaddameen?
