there's a very fine line between madness, genius and utter stupidity. and for this stunt jeb will erase that line.
But seriously , I hope he does find the money to set up this project, I hope as I think I remember reading that he does it on hollywood boulevard and succeed or fail I hope there are lots and lots of cameras to capture the action for us to watch again and again.

It's truly a failed concept. To land one would require so much padding and protective gear that one is no longer landing their body, but an exoskeleton known as a ... "plane."

overall, the article is pretty bad, but it conveys the jist of his plan:
-balloons for glide slope to top of ramp (too high/low=abort & deploy & try again (i don't think jeb will need to))
-ramp that turns into tube

He,s off his head,how much friction would a landing like that casue.I hope he has a heat reasistant bollock box.ha ha ha

Think about moto GP riders falling an sliding at 150 mph on tarmac. I'm pretty sure a wingsuit landing will cause much less friction/heat, but a nomex suit is highly recommended

Note that the article was published in January, 2008 with the claim that it would be done by Jeb within 6 months. It's nearly 4 years later. It seems that it will never be done.
