Hey folks,

Thought it best that I introduce myself here as although I plan to mainly lurk around and try to pick up some useful bits of info I might actually chance raising my head above the parapet at some point to ask questions. No doubt they'll be met with the response they deserve

Contemplating BASE in the future at some point but have a lot of considerations to make before joining in the fun for real. Living in Scotland at the moment and sitting on 400 skydives but having learnt more and more that jump numbers mean very little i'll be waiting a few years until i'm well and truly convinced I won't fuck myself up immediately.

Hope I don't ruffle any feathers with stupid questions and look forward to learning more.

So you have 400 skyjumps and you are still cautious about getting into base ..
I wish there were more like you.

A complication of

a) the whole "the more you learn the more you realise you know very little" side of life

and

b) graduating into a career that, although it would be probably quite handy for ground crewing, could be taking up a considerable amount of time and isn't fussed on the less legally upstanding type.

Hopefully these issues won't get in the way forever though.

So you're a cop? I know lots of cops that BASE jump. A badge is handy to have on the load.

Nope unfortunately not a cop. I'll be a doctor early next year instead.

What a shame I am almost as far away from scotland as I could possibly be in the uk.

I wouldn't be too impressed. Juniors are damn near useless :p

In our crew we have a doctor, a politician, lawyer, journalist, soldier and a rescue with all the gear. really handy these guys

a doctor and a lawyer but no nurse? the docs useless without a good nurse
