There is a petition out right now open till the 23rd of October to legalize base jumping in the national parks! In order for it to be considered for ratification we need about 3400 more signatures. That is 200 signatures a day! If we get this past though we may be able to get other points open for jumps like buildings and cliffs we currently can't. I don't see the relationship between legal NPS cliff jumps and legal buildings. Apples and oranges. And I'm sorry, but signing a White House petition won't get you anywhere. There have been numerous methods proposed for opening up NPS cliffs, but jumpers are normally unmotivated to take any action outside of hitting "submit" on their keypad.
