Exactly, its doable and in a safe manner too - its huge and safe to deploy the canopy anytime during the fly trough.

Honestly I don't really care if people misinterpret that, and I know Jeb well enough to be sure that he doesn't care either... But just FYI, what he means by that is his plan to fly through the cave and then down the valley on the other side does include what will probably be a significant amount of "no pull" flying when he is inside the valley (gorge) after the cave. A survivable pull will probably be possible in the valley if he exits the cave with enough altitude, but doing so would probably ruin his whole day at the very least. It's nasty jungly terrain and I would not want to deploy my canopy there at all.
Anyway, I can't wait to see it. And I wouldn't fault Jeb for pumping it up for the media, he's just doing his job ;-)

you obviously don't have much terrain flying experience, and have not researched videos of the hole enough. It is safe and the "no pull" time is limited to maximum 10 seconds. If the entry and speed is correct (as it should be for a professional pilot) this is a pretty safe stunt. Though if this is a repeater of the Rio stunt in poor flying I rather not watch it..

It seems doable considering the noted dimensions and the accuracy and glide ratios that we are seeing people achieve these days in wingsuits.

It is gonna be a real trip for Jeb to reverse everything though. Imagine to instead of passing a ledge as close as possible below you, to pass the mark as close as possible above you.

That has got to qualify as good fun, right?

The overall dimensions are unclear, but I will be standing by excited to see the footage once it comes out in ten days time or so, that is for sure.

Baskjall mentions this as a safe stunt. I hope it is. Hyped up stunts need to fall in the safe / doable category. I am not yet sold on the wingsuit landing idea being a good plan/ habit, but I will be watching that one too!

Im sorry I insulted the Overlord in Proxyflying and his wannabe followers. I was hoping for a more realistic and well thought, more explained perhaps, revue of the forthcoming happening (which of course is an exiting stunt and requires its man or woman) And the safety of the stunt or whatever is all depending on the experience of the flyer. And this is why there are some variations in opinion about the risk involved I guess..

Sweet footage, I jerked off to that stuff countless times "back in the day".
Speaking of tugging it, Jeb warned me that facebook and YouPorn are both unavailable in China, which means I'll have PLENTY of free time to troll this forum next week when we're there. I'll keep you posted on how long he really is inside the death zone - you're right that I haven't done a lot of research on the line, I just know what he told me. Have a good one.

I don't question that jeb is a talented guy. Who is good at what he does, I know there's a ton of opinions of him... Don't care. Never met him. And i have a hard time forming an opinion of someone without meeting them, but being jeb is skilled. And this hole is the size of a football field. I don't see it being a challenge for him. Fly high sink as needed. When lined up fly your ass off... Pull. He can hit balloons.... He can hit a fucking football field.

Ok, I don't want to put Jeb's stunt down.

You have to remember thats for the wuffos, what we think is not worth a dime. Before it was Felix, now it is Jeb and Felix

Just some information. Dave Barlia and Felix have been some of the most famous jumpers in the wuffos world until now. From now Jeb is the most famous jumper at the moment.

You have to admit it looks a bit impressive from this angel, and being the first is all it matters. when it is done, it is easy to say it was easy ;-)

When I wrote that I respect Jeb for this stunt I meant it. I think the flight is not that difficult, but building up such a project from the idea until it's done is a big achievement. And I'm sure he did not do it to impress other base jumpers with this. Like you said, this was for the "normal" people and I would guess this will pay his bills for some time :-)
