Hi !

I just got my new HD170 stealth.
Anybody jumps it ?
I would love to have some tips on how hook it to your helmet.
Some accessories are included to have it on a helmet but it's all made of plastic.
Reliable?

Attachment that snaps broken if a bridle/lines entangle with it is better than something over constructed metal stuff. You should afford losing a camera...

Attached is a photo of the 2KComposites helmet I bought to mount my Drift HD170 on. They do sell the bracket separately. The camera screws onto the bracket through the helmet as well as with the velcro strap, so very secure. Secure enough to justify a cut-away on the chin strap!

What about that new Drift HD with the GPS built in, Has anyone played with one of those?

Oops Its the Contour HD that has GPS.

The GPS of the Contour HD doesn't work for skydiving or base jumping...

Camera is good but wait on the new smaller version to come out (if it hasn't already).

The mounts aren't as good as the GoPro stuff. Cheaper and more fragile.

Image quality is similar to GoPro. The current Drift is only splash proof...

Overall good action camera, with advantage of onboard screen and rotating lens..

I agree that the supplied mounts are not really jump-friendly - more for slower sport, bike mounting, etc. But the standard camera-screw in the base allows for multiple moutning option similar to many already in use in skydiving-type helmets and mounting systems.

I know of one person who tried using the velcro to side mout the Drift on his skydive helmet. First riser slap and it was history! Not a good option!
