Re: [MadMaxxx] grand rapids MI. jumpers
Hey bud, have you tried finding a mentor through your local DZ? its really hard to find someone on the internet to mentor you for a few reasons. First they don't know you and aren't able to form an opinion about your attitude, skill level, risk tolerance, intelligence, and most importantly how willing you will be to give to the sport before you get anything in return. I tried a few times to find a mentor through this site but failed. Scope out the guys or girls at the DZ and ask around. I found my mentor by being a persistent annoying skydiver just interested in BASE and asking a ton of questions. He hated me at first, pretty sure he still does :) but now he is teaching me everything he knows and i trust my life to him and vice versa. You have to understand the gravity of what it means to be a mentor and what they need to shoulder in order to be one. I am of course referring to a experienced and dedicated mentor not someone who is just going to hold your pilot chute and let you buy beer for them.
Ask around your DZ, i know its not easy but its the best way. How many skydives do you have now?
