Anybody use the night mode on their video cameras for BASE (i.e. Sony CX or the Drift)? How does it come out?

Here's a great picture of a night jump with a Sony cx550v The jump was great and the framing was perfect so I feel compelled to post it.

the best camera for night shot is the sony hc-5... if there is some light, it is pretty good. use the night shot, but not the super night shot. it makes it a bit too messy. if you really want night footage, i would go that route. can be helmet mounted or a nice belly mount. it wont work well on the really remote locations with no light around unless there is a good moon.. good luck

I gave my GC my Sony CX100 to flim with at night. I set it to spot focus and I zoom right in on the exit point when I do this, then I change the quality down to 9m, then I up the exposure to near full. The footage came out good for the jump but the canopy flight cannopt be seen due to no light away from the building. i wouldn't bother even trying on any other object.

The footage on my GoPro also came out great. I set that to spot focus and r4.

Like I said, it only works because there are some lights on this particular building.

Generally for urban jumps they are good, if you want to jump an A in the middle of nowhere forget about it.
It is all about the ambient light.
