I like lucky a lot. Good climber and a professional acrobat. Plenty of crazy shit like that happens. The interview might have been a bit much though.

If you like him that much, I'd be more concerned about the sh*t PC deployment than the interview!!

Unfortunately just heard lucky had a pretty bad accident in france and is in a coma. Anyone know any other details?

His face book page has some links through to some fundraising his friends have organized to try and cover his medical bills, and to fly his girlfriend and family to be with him. If you've met him and know what a friendly and happy guy he his I'm sure you'll want to chip in!

You'll be able to follow updates there too. Situation is still as you stated to my knowledge.

I really hope people are wrong here ... but no news from the Facebook page !
I have his canopy (we took it down from the cliff this week-end) and if he still have friends in France or Switzerland, i'd be happy to give them. The canopy is destroyed (big holes in many cells). Half of the lines are cut, one riser is cut. The bridle, one riser, the slider and pilot chute are OK.

and a really (really !) lucky American guy which is in a perfect shape after 3 weeks in hospital. (maybe he already started jumping again !)

Pretty sure news of Lucky dying is incorrect. I know the people there with him, and his friends back here, none of whom have said anything apart from the fact that he is in an induced coma... So hopefully he pulls through okay:)

I did live in France for a year and I do speak french - altho a bit rusty. I joined their forum and apparently will be formalized tomorrow. From what I gather, their words seems to say that he had passed and were amazed that it was not reflected in the facebook page. Hopefully I have gotten this all wrong. We shall see. I will look again. My french is a bit rusty, but mostly the problem is with the vocabulary if that makes any sense.

I know for a fact he is in an induced coma (still) in hospital. His condition has improved very slightly, maybe enough that they might operate on his other injuries.

Yes sorry for that, the news about Lucky here were false. I'm happy to see that he is still alive and fighting for healing.
