getting into base jumping in europe
hi everybody, so I am trying to get into base safely, therefore I was thinking not to get a rig a go, but find somebody willing to help me. So I went to ITW 2 weekends ago. I walked all the way up and I found the exit point after hiking around for some time. Spoke to several basejumpers I met at the exit point. total assholes. I thought skydivers were socially retarded people, but those basejumpers? wow. So, I think I were unlucky, since I know very cool ones in the us (people at my DZ who are into base). the ones I met told me to go the the perrine to learn and don't bother them (that's the juice of the conversation). They also admitted they started jumping brento with no instruction, but back in the days when the sport was not regulated. Regulated? So do u actually imply you have above average skills? Ok, I am in Italy until the end of the year. how do I get to the perrine? hello? same people that would get mad if you get a rig and jump since you jeopardize the spot. Ok but what am I supposed to do if you don't help me out? Having talked to them I guess there is a high possibility of survival for an average IQ man, but I still don't want to do it that way. I want to do it safely. Is there any nice base jumper in northern italy? anybody help?
Thanks and sorry if I vented a bit.
cheers
