Hi there,

Can anyone tell me if anyone other than Felix Baumgarter has base jumped Mamet Cave in Velebit National Park in Croatia please? If so, do you have any contacts details for crews who jump there?

I would also appreciate any suggestions for any awesome cave base jumping locations?

I hope this is not going to open me up to a barrage of criticism.. but I am doing some research for a production company in London who are currently producing a short series of documentary type films for the internet that focus on ‘incredible audio and visual experiences’.

We are very interested in the idea of following a crew of base jumpers on a jump into one of the world's most spectacular, unusual and/or deepest caves? I understand that it is not longer possible to film at the 'Cave of Swallows' in Mexico..so I was wondering if anyone had information on other possible incredible cave locations such as Mamet Cave in Croatia and the crews (if any?) that jump there?

Any help you or others on basejumper.com can offer me would be much appreciated.

be warned...

many BASE jumpers who have assisted video crews reported back major disappointment. the editorial slant frequently ends up different than originally advertised.

the jumpers who get paid never seem to comment.

then there is a downside to publicity. authorities closed the Cave of Swallows partially because of it's popularity. if jumpers assist you, will they risk closing down another site? newbies come to this site regularly after seeing some amazing video, burning with desire to jump. many wish to bypass the advised preparatory work.

a "60 Minutes" wingsuit piece was well received here.

Thanks for your reply space, at this stage i am just doing some initial research trying to find a suitable cave location and possible crews that jump there. But yes if we were to find a local crew of 2-3 base jumpers that base jump at a location such as Mamet Cave then yes the production company has some money for peoples' time and efforts. Unfortunately at this stage, I cannot say how much.

I hope this is enough info. Any help would be much appreciated,

I understand some jumpers may not want to assist me and there is a downside to publicity but I'm hoping this is not the overall feeling.

So if there is anyone out that can just point me in the right direction then i would really appreciate it.

that is the point of introducing yourself.

give more than you expect to receive.

build trust.

few jumpers can build successful careers in BASE. if you can't contribute to a few jumpers (money, access to objects, etc.), or to BASE in general, don't expect the diligent, careful jumpers to respond.

but they might...

(you are asking jumpers to reveal a VERY special place, to a non-jumper. why should they participate?)
