should i even consider bringing my gear to chamonix area?
im planning a holiday to chamonix area in august (not fully confirmed with dates but most likely mid august) for hiking, and maybe mountain biking if i can rent bikes there. iv got 4 base jumps currently (all slider down), 3 hand held jumps off a 300ft antenna (in which iv had a 180 on the 3rd jump and cleared straight away) and 1 stowed jump off a 700 ft cliff. wondering if there are any jumps in area or locals who would be willing to show me around as i dont want to just show up and presume i can jump incase i burn sites or worse. would like to hear from people about the area and potential jumps for newbies like myself.

Why don't you just go to LB is Swiss? Oh, right, that's a pretty far drive.

I honestly hope that is a bad joke or did you just recommend going to LB for a guy who stated he has "4 base jumps currently (all slider down), 3 hand held jumps off a 300ft antenna (in which iv had a 180 on the 3rd jump and cleared straight away) and 1 stowed jump off a 700 ft cliff."?

Yes, there is a lot more video floating around of LB than CHX area. Both not good for you.

Dont miss the opportunity to go to Chamonix. But, yes, leave your rig at home. Go hangout and watch drive hike and stuff like that. If it is what you wanted. you'll be back and you will have worked on your skilz.
If not what you wanted. You found out without the risks.
Take care,

There is stuff around chamonix area (little bit of driving) that would suit your experiance level but would be better posting on the french board to try and get in touch with locals also as tom said adrenaline base is just outside cham could pop in there see if they can help you out with getting someone also would be cool anyways just to see containers getting made / learn more about the kit from manufacturers if you can wangle a tour..
i vote take your rig but be prepared not to use it , have fun on your trip..
