choosing a wingsuit
Hi all!
I need a piece of advice regarding choice of wingsuits.
I have had some experience with Prodigy 2, and now I'm flying Phantom 2. It goes well, but I'm thinking of upgrading it to something faster and bigger :)
I've read about "matress suits" like Apache that get you further, but fly with little speed. And it's not quite what I want. Is Vampire the best choice for speed & distance combined, or are there some other variants?
Thanks a lot !

how much do you weigh,, how big is your wallet and how long are you willing to wait. the phantom 2 can do most of the jumps. one advantage of the mattress's is very early flying after exit.. but they come with many dangers. good luck on your search.

I weigh around 52 kg (so it's around 60 with the rig etc).
The amount of the money I'm willing to spend depends on the advantages the more expensive suit may bring. If the difference is almost unnoticable, why pay more :) But if there is something vitally better about a more costly suit - I'll think about it.

don't talk about your phantom 2 flights and ask about the apache.. thats just dumb.

I progressed through prodigy, phantom 2, Skyflyer 3, and the T-bird and thought i should get something with more performance, so i demoed an S-bird. I'm a decently quick learner but the suit took some real concentration to get it flying with the control that i desired. So i bought one, and the S-bird rocks but it's a BIG wingsuit and you should spend some time on the R or S bird before moving to bigger suits.

Since then i've jumped the Vampire 4, X-bird, and a couple different Apache designs that Tony brought to Norway.

before you decide to get a bigger suit, find out how out of control you can make yourself in your current suit and still recover quickly to flying it again. Then progress in stages, the large lateral of the tonysuit armwings make it fly differently than the pheonix suits i've flown.

Dont leave phoenix fly, get a used vampire 3 or a new V4 and you will be super cool. ;-)
