Packing symmetry question
First off let me apologize if this should have been posted in the beginner forum, was kinda on the fence but oh well.

I am having issues getting my pack job to be symmetrical when it comes to the three nose cells on either side of the ground pack after i clamp the center cell around the folds. This will be my 8th pack job and 7 of them have been asymmetrical with my second to last one being the only good one. I wasn't able to identify what i did differently on number 7 so i am coming to all of you for advice.

What step do i need to pay more attention to in order to keep the nose cells symmetrical? On the last job i paid extra attention to splitting the cells after the shoulder pack and before i laid the canopy on the ground but it still came out wrong.

I posted two pictures one of number 7 (symmetrical) and one of number 8 (asymmetrical).

Any advice?

Also any other issues you can see please let me know. Thanks everyone!

Re: [Asgard] Packing symmetry question
It's hard to say "which step" you should pay attention to without knowing exactly how you pack, since there are endless variations on any BASE pack job.

The best thing to do is probably to have someone watch you pack, keeping an eye on the parts you are worried about.

FWIW, I don't think that the photo you posted as "not" is assymetrical enough to worry about at this stage (less than 10 jumps) of your BASE career.

Looks pretty damn good to me, I think you posted the wrong pictures. Throw it in the tray and jump.

edit: I've never had a pack job look that neat, and any off heading I've had was due to body position, not packing (almost 100% sure of that).

Understood, probably just being to cautious. I'm going to have my mentor check my pack job when he comes back. Just wanted to make sure i was killing any bad habits early on.

Trash all that shit and go with Jessie Hall's pack job!

Re: [gauleyguide] Packing symmetry question
Jessie Hall's method is similar to the Tilley Fold right? I've read that article but I'm learning to pack from my mentor and my APEX packing DVD so for now I'm just going to stick with this. Once I have a better understanding of the dynamics I will revisit his method. Thanks

Bro, you think it's funny but P.S.P.G.F is serious shit. Look it up, it ruins lives lololol.

Very nice looking packjob, good for you. What you are describing happens to me sometimes, all I do is dress it up a little to make it look a bit better and closer her up. Remember, that thing is gonna get yanked out of there at high speed, and aint gonna look that pretty coming out.

"Jesse Hall's method" is Marty Tilley's pack job. Marty taught it to Jesse, and Jesse made a video of it.

Re: [TomAiello] Packing symmetry question
In the video Jesse made, he dresses the nose COMPLETELY different. And he stows the lines before he narrows the pack job. I think pulling out the nose and making those fancy triangles is a waist of time. When it comes out of the tray on deployment it ain't gonna be fancy looking anymore.

Completely different from the pictured (Apex style) pack job? Or completely different from Marty's pack job?

Re: [gauleyguide] Packing symmetry question
who cares its just a different or similar way of packing. they all work he just put it into a video for all to gain. he said in the the video he has seen a lot of pack jobs some that he likes and some that are questionable he never said he came up with it.
