Just curious if anybody has jumped the Badseed Mayhem. I'm having trouble deciding between a Mayhem, a Seven, or a Troll.
I like the buzz created by people who jump a Seven. I like the package deals that you can get with a Troll. But nobody talks about the Mayhem, so I'm wondering why. It's claimed aspect ratio is exactly what I'm looking for, and the long tail design seems to be a good idea.
I currently am jumping an Ace 260 and am looking to upsize and possible add some vents.

Ok I'll chime in I would get a troll cuz that's what I jump no that's all I've jumped other than that gear max had a couple years ago before I had my own I would go with that too but I don't remember what it was. Oh and mine is not vented. This should be all the advise you need.

Ya I met the guy that builds the containers at the bridge but I forgot to ask him if he likes his own canopy design. I wonder what he would have said. I'm sure if you go to bridgefest you could jump one but the weather is not looking like the greatest.

I would be there but my wife and just gave birth to a little badass zombie slayer on Saturday so I'm restricted to local objects until Moab in mid june. Maybe you can jump one for me and tell me how it does in crappy weather. Have fun.

Oh, and if you see Brandon, and he says he doesn't jump one, please jump it anyway to figure out why.

I'll say hi to Brandon but I'm not jumping anyone else's canopy I'm scared I'll like it better than mine. Congrats on the little one.

While I do like Brandon and his wares,
I have not personally jumped a Menace
or a Mayhem.

But some of my jump buddies have them,
hence I have inspected and watched the
gear perform repeatedly just as advertised.

I have seen Brandon teach a few FJCs and
jumped with newbies who took his course,
they did better than average in my opinion.

I attended Brandon's FJC about 3 years ago, and jumped his Menace then. Some of my friends jump it, and my next container is one as well. At that time he didn't have the Mayhem, but interested in jumping one as well, hope to have the chance when I visit him in August.

I have yet to jump either of brandons gear, but I jump with a handful of people and 80% of them jump menaces, I have just ordered a complete rig from brandon and am very excited to get it, very well priced and he is very easy to work with and he tries to do everything he can to make your rig exactly what you want. But I am just a brainwashed Vegas local. :)

Did they say what they like about them?
Hw fast is his order process? I know I could just email him but you're here and so am I. I really like the idea of supporting his little operation but the troll/gargoyle package deal from morpheus looks pretty good.

I know he said 3-4 weeks for a container. I sold my user gear and nought all brand new with more options than I had. I am out of pocket on top of my old gear $1000, gargoyle has been around for years. There's no arguing that, I know brandons has been jumping his copies exclusively since he started marketing them. I has some nice features down to the dimples cross ports between cells. As well as a standard 3 cell Badseed logo. And starting at 1295 you can get a brand new complete setup ready to jump at $2000, he has a lot of attention to detail, both have been tried and found to be good rigs, one just has a bit more history. Call him, 808-780-2056. He's awesome to work with.

Anybody see or jump a mayhem at TF over the weekend? He didnt return my email.

I have jumped the mayhem a few times. Great canopy, it flew pretty similar to my blackjack. Brandon from badseed makes some really great stuff. My next canopy I plan on getting is a mayhem. Also, his gear is very reasonably priced.

Also check out his pilot chutes. The demented series are awesome, fast inflation and no oscillation.

wazzup soup. if i could do it again, i would have saved a bit of money and not dumped over 3k into my brand new BASE rig. yes, i fucking LOVE it, but i would rather have bought something used, and saved some money to dump into other stuff, like speedflying or skydiving gear.....................but whats done is done. im super happy with my helium and im still getting to know my OSP.

Nothing beats a Toxic series 7.

It's nice to see someone try to copy what Marty has accomplished, but Marty is a craftsman.

Go Crazy and enter the Asylum and you're a lot safer in the end.

I wonder if the Toxic is derived from somewhere else also...maybe something that was made local and never made it to big production in it's original more spherical form.

Contrary to what you might think the Toxic Series is developed by Asylum.

All R&D is Asylum.

Anything else you buy that is built on the Block/Bias is a knock off from the original developer and should be used only for toilet paper at the exit.

The Series 7 Toxic is the most advanced PC you can buy today.

Ok, so I've decided to respond to this useless thread, its obvious what ever you own is the best, and there is no other good options, by your logic Ford is the best car on the market because it has been here the longest, I don't have anything against any gear until one jumped it or visually had it in front of me and decided it had a flaw. But I'm just pointing out one of what I am sure there are a couple of character flaws you possess. But I could be way off base, you seem super knowledgeable and very personable... you probably have plenty of friends.

Spent years with the R&D of the Toxic Series.

The current 7 series is countless hours to make it what it is.

He's been making BASE gear for over 20 years. He designed, researched, tested and built it. He has an attention to detail.

Cost 175.00.

Bad Seed:

Brandon has been in the business less than 10 years (i'll give him the benefit of the doubt.) He's been selling his rigs since 2007???
I have seen his work (PC's) and it's ok, it works.
He takes what Asylum has done and is making his own, calling it the Demented PC and charging ......175.00

Which one would YOU buy?

i find no fault in your arguement, where i found fault was your there is only one worth a damn attitude... asylum has done the R & D, and has been in the sport for ever, and has done a damn good job of keeping alot of people safe, that being said, there is still other very good BASE options. everyone started somewhere... brandon just had better examples to start off of, and go from there with, where asylum had to learn it the hard way.

I can tell you it won't be a $200 PC. Seems to me like an overly expensive way to deal with gear fear.

Observe a lot of unvented, apex vent, and toxic vent pilot chutes do their job in various conditions and the toxic will orbit less than either of the other two (given the proper sample size of video). Orbiting pilot chutes can severely degrade the ...quality or reliability...of your opening.

Yes they aint gonna stop you from going in, but they could very well prevent something occuring...the outcome of which would have varied from shit-laden pants to mild to moderate death.

::note:: there are other things it could help with, but i think that orbiting is pretty well established as one.
