outdoor watches
Hi there, does anybody have any experiences with outdoor watches thru jumping? I mean, if some outdoor watches with altmeter, barometer and gps ( for ws ) could be useful? For example Suntoo X10 or similar? thx a lot

I use my Suunto Altimax for skydiving and also on objects that I am not sure of the height in conjunction with my laser range finder. they work wonderfully

How about doing a forum search "suunto"? There are many threads on the subject.

Sunnto SUCKS !!!!!
I upgrade in watches to High Gear and saved HALF of the suunto...

Works better, can read it better and its accurate enough to BASE or skydive from. (handfull of SD and BASE seems to be accurate to 3 feet)

Re: [the666nurse] outdoor watches
I have the X10 and i have used it on skydives plenty of times. the altimeter works fine in that environment but i have not used it in a base environment.

The X10 is great for hiking. good gps features to compliment movement across land but not so great at air travel. it will track your coordinates and altitude but it will not export them to a map to show a flight path or at least i never was able to get it to do that. it just shows it like you walked around on the ground.

very pricey if you intend to just use it to track WS jumps. if your just using it to get to the exit point then its a great watch to have.

Re: [Thayer] outdoor watches
thx, very valuable Smile. I hoped X10 can tell me the distance you overflew, alti level, flying speed, wind drift and so on. Then you should be possible to overcome yourself again and again and fly farther away and faster Tongue. Yep, I mean WS first of all.
