It's weird how jumpers have gotten so young compared to 15 years ago. I started at age 20 in 1992 and most jumpers started BASE in the early 30s.

I started at 43. I thought I was old until I met the twins. These two guys, probably 60, were on the Perrine, over the rail. I asked them what they were up to. They were strapped together at the hip. Each had a rig on, but they were sharing a round between them ( one riser set to one, one riser set to the other). The one guy said to me...we were born together....and we're gonna die together. So off they went, a good couple seconds, tossed the pilot chute. They were good under one canopy, then just before they spashed, they other guy tried to get the other canopy out, but it never really inflated. I only wish I had my video cam out for that one, but I was jumping at the same time. If you guys are out there, log in.

Been in the sport for a year with a couple of jumps, probably doesn''t even know who Carl Boenish was, is destined for the BFL, (before I croak of old age), and like most newbies in the last 3 to 5 years who came to the sport via Youtube is invincible, youth really is wasted on the young.

I static lined out of the womb. Total mal. Bounced with nothing but my cock out (and it was a chilly delivery room).

1983, 20 years old. We read about the NRGB in Skydiving magazine the week before the event. Me and Kurt Whaley talked a friend into driving us up to the bridge from Ft. Bragg, NC.

Kurt is NRGB 205 and I'm NRGB 206. Here's the twist. I jumped first but Kurt got the lower # ! Ha!

Never really stuck with BASE jumping. Over the years, I have a total of '8' BASE jumps. 3 from the NRGB and 5 from two antennas. One antenna is airborne jump school training and 4 from a monster in SE Texas.

Why does the age end at 90? Why not 110?

Started when I was 34. Had to put up with all that skydiving BS. Have completed most my base jumping goals but not the one that got me interested in the first place. Been base jumping so long I am actually getting interested in skydiving.
