National Geographic
There is a real nice spread in May 2011 Nat Geo Magazine on climbing in Yosemite. There is a full page photo of a sick 4 way exit in daylight. The shot is gorgeous. DON'T TASE ME BRO!

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I love the Yosemite. I need to get back there. The big wall's,the waterfalls, bear's, the huge trees. Thereaou. Had a good point with his writings on civil disobediance. To hell with the petty tyrants. Yosemite is why I started base.

Re: [SafetyNate] National Geographic
So National Geographic is using BASE to promote climbing?

Re: [gauleyguide] National Geographic
I got the impression they were using climbers to promote base jumping. They climbed to the top they must be safe. Let them jump off to get back down.

Re: [gauleyguide] National Geographic
Big wall climbing and Big wall BASE are the perfect "marriage" of Alpine activities. That some world class climbers have embraced BASE, can only be a benefit to our sport and maybe the catalyst in breaking the NPS's ludicrous stance on backcountry parachuting, which is an embarrasment to the citizens of this country who have to travel to foreign soil to enjoy a sport that is captivating (worldwide) the public's interest through it's media exposure. The NPS's policies make a mockery of the idea that we live in " the Land of The Free". At some point the only solution may be an organised mass act of "civil disobedience", it seems that nothing else will break the grip that this anti-American bureaucracy holds on the people's lands. Just a thought!
