One other random thought. If you end up buying a Prism (single pin rig from BR), be sure to get the "JJ" modifications. The JJ mod is a far superior version of the rig (it eliminates the canopy slop and hourglassing of the standard Prism), and I wish BR would make it the standard, and discontinue the old (sub-)standard Prism.

Tom, you never mentioned this JJ mod on any of these other threads. I think you should as little insights like this are quite useful, and not obvious.

The JJ mod is pretty new (JJ developed it after those writings).

It basically involves extra stiffeners in the side flaps (to eliminate the hourglassing), and wider top and bottom flaps (to eliminate the canopy slop). As far as I know, there are only about five JJ mod Prisms in existence (JJ has the original, and the Norgies have some team rigs). Todd is resisting making them, since they involve more work for him. I think we all ought to gang up on him and pressure him into making them standard. I'd pay at least $100 more for the JJ mods (probably more like $150 if it became a price negotiation).

Now, all the Prism needs is dynamic corners, and it will take back it's position at the head of my personal list from the Gargoyle.

But would also like to hear from "real experience".

If i read the BR manual,it says only for stowed jumps,but i also read that pin rigs open a bit faster than velcro(as i have at the time).

Any way i desided a Wertex,cours i want to use it to wing fligths aswell.But i still like to know if any have anything about how low you take a single velcro,single pin and doubel pin.

any thing to be more arward at(not readeble in manuals,artikels).That will say personal experience.

None of the gear is really designed for freefall deployment below around 200 ft (say 65m). If you are going lower than that, be sure you know what you're getting into before you do it.

That said, the major problems that pin rigs experience hand held all occur with delays. Bridle flap at deep delays can extract pins, or a pin popped by over-vigorous exit will come loose and begin an out of sequence deployment.

If you are hand held and do a go and throw (zero delay), you shouldn't have any problems with most pin rigs. In this situation, a pin rig will generally open faster than a fully sealed velcro rig.
