Hey all,
New here, but I think I'm posting this to the right place. I've always found BASE jumping interesting, but alas I'll probably never have the stones to try it.

Anyway, I'm posting because I videoed a friend of mine and her two dancing partners as they used mountain climbing gear to shimmy down the side of a 300 foot grain silo and do a dance.

Thought you might like to see it, cued up to just the moment they go over the edge...

Did anybody get a jump out of the chopper you hired for the day ?

I know some aerial silk artists and ballet dancers that would love this. I know a couple girl base jumpers who'd definitely have fun there.

As for the chopper, no, I hate to say no one jumped out of the chopper. That I know of.

Thanks the kudos Hookit. The dancers originally had a whole other crew set up to shoot, but that crew bailed at the last moment so we stepped in the night before. They had the chopper all set up, so we just showed up with our cameras.

Yeah, I figured there might be some girl base jumpers who might dig this, but I wasn't sure. It's an interesting mix of death-defying and graceful dancing.

I wonder how many of the people who are dissing this vid could hang like these chicks did? I think the athleticism of these women is pretty cool.

no one is dissing the video, I appreciate all the angles, shots and the editing. I just thought it was a tiny bit boring.

I appreciate the view Dan. I don't feel dissed by you. I kind of agree looking back. When we came on the video, the length, the music, etc. was already kind of set. That's why I tried to cue the video so it would jump right to the hanging in space part. If I did this again and had more control, it'd be about 4 minutes long.
I would post a link to subscribe, and thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not going to have many more videos like this on the channel, so I wouldn't want to waste anyone's time. However, if I ever get a BASE jumping type client, I'll be sure to make a bee line back here.

where are those silos? gps coordinates are fine.

Sorry to say, I'm not sure. It was somewhere between Durham and Willows California. I'd expect you could find it on Google Earth.
I was only there once on the day of the shoot in 2006. Those are a bunch of county roads out there, so I wasn't able to track it down today. Wish I knew more.

Why, what are you planning? LOL
