Nice. I remember spending several days in my own private Yosemite the last time this happened.

They still had people manning the barricades at the park entrances, but if you could sneak around them it was like a ghost town inside. Well, more like a ghost amusement park.

Intel says LEOs are considered "critical sensitive" which means they will be working no matter the outcome of the budget issue. So if they parks close, there still could, and common sense says most likely, be NPS in there.

Or without, but yes, we got a car in.

We ran into some other people in the park who had just hiked in through the wilderness, though.

I could see where that might be the case in a post 9/11 USA.

LEOs are essential, but their numbers would likely be drastically reduced. At least that was the case in the mid-1990's where we jumped like there was no tomorrow.
