Bridge Day 2010 DVD Now Shipping
After a 3-day weather delay, the DVDs arrived from manufacturing yesterday, and we spent the better part of the day preparing them for shipping, and all orders were shipped out last night.

If you haven't had a chance to check out the trailer, it is posted on the JumpCuts website (http://www.jump-cuts.com/bridgeday), as well as on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dojzToQ9b4). Feel free to post comments and share it with your friends.

If you or someone you know would like to order the Raw Footage Combo, and hasn't yet done so, we'll continue to offer that for the next few weeks. After that, the project will be taken offline, and raw footage will no longer be available.

Finally, for many reasons, we have decided that 2010 was our last as the official Bridge Day video crew. I hope you have enjoyed having us as much as we have enjoyed being a part of it.

Thanks to everyone for your patience and for all of your support over the past three years...it's been a great ride!

Sorry to hear you folks aren't going to be doing the BD video anymore. You all have done a great job and the raw footage has been a nice offering.

I can't imagine it has been very profitable, so thanks for your work.

First of all, many thanks to those of you who commented above and via email. It's great to hear all the positive feedback, and it makes all the hard work that much more worthwhile.

It seems there are some questions as to why this was our last year as the official videographer. I didn't feel the need to elaborate in my original post, but apparently there has been some speculation that we had some issues with Vertical Visions. That is NOT the case at all. On the contrary, Jason & Jennifer Bell have been extremely accommodating, as has the rest of their staff. I know I speak for our entire crew when I say that we are grateful to all of them for going out of their way each year to help us make the video the best it could be.

The reasons we will not be continuing are both economic and personal. When I informed Jason that 2010 would be our last year, I told him that there comes a point when the amount of time you put into a project, in order to make it as good as it can be, is no longer worth the return. I have passed that point each year with the Bridge Day video, and I don't believe I can continue to give the project the attention it deserves without making personal or financial sacrifices. Which is to say that we could continue to produce the video by cutting corners while editing, spending less time on details, using cheaper packaging, the list goes on. But that's not the kind of product that I want to put out there. And I certainly didn't want to raise our prices without giving everyone something extra for their money.

So, while I will definitely miss hanging out in the basket on Bridge Day, I do look forward to spending the rest of the fall outdoors, and sitting back a year from now to watch the next crew's video.
