There is a new film coming soon called Sanctum, directed by James Cameron. There is some base jumping into the cave of the swallows (the Golindrinas). I think it's amazing to show the world the beauty of BASE jumping there. I wonder how they got a permit. Let me guess - money?

So it doesn't look like they went to the cave of the swallows at all.

I wonder if that BASE jump was real or if it's some sort of stock footage of an exit in to the Golindrinas.

James Cameron only produces the project. Looking at the trailer on YouTube, the jumping segment looks like a dive into a bluescreen stage, with some actual shots from the real cave and a jump intercut. Not as bad as the skydiving scene from BayWatch, but definately close-ups that take you out of the film.

Regardless, it's great exposure for BASE, particularly for the cave!
