Please No Jumping at Saguaro until June. After making two jumps a few weeks ago we were told by some other tourists that "Eagles are Nesting". Not only can we screw up a legal site but the Fine is also a $10,000 Smacker. Others have jumped and received warnings from Rangers, so please read all "Info Signs" at all National Forest Areas before Jumping. I did not so I'm helping spread the word!!

It isn't all National Forest areas. National Forests and BLM don't have laws restricting BASE (or laws that are twisted to prosecute jumpers).

This particular jump is a problem because of a statute protecting designated eagle nesting areas. This particular cliff just happens to be in one of those areas. It was never an issue before but after the fatality a few years back, a few people started looking for a reason to give jumpers shit. Never mind the hunters blasting ducks and bouncing lead pellets off of the wall from the bottom of the cliff, the brilliant powers that be consider a canopy to be far more invasive to the local wildlife.

Jumpers don't have the NRA lobbying for them.

....watch out for stuttering cops too...haha

Exhibit A: The NRA managed to get a liberal Democrat anti-gun president to sign a law in 2009 that makes it legal to carry firearms in national parks. Maybe we should try the second amendment angle -- you know, our parachutes are weapons of self defense against bears and bad guys.
