We got a slap on the wrist at yesterdays jump and was just wondering what the stats are on base jumps and cops.

I came really close to getting arrested after landing next to a constables car after jumping a tower. He detained us until the deputy sherrif got there. The deputy ran warrant checks on us and then let us go. He was obviously really annoyed with us but still let us go.

I think most LEOs figure they have got better things to do than arrest someone who isn't causing any harm or pissing anyone off. I think many LEOs are also adrenaline junkies and respect BASE jumpers even if they don't like them or approve of what they do.

Being disrespectful to a LEO can be a real game changer, though, and I'm sure causing any type of property damage or injuries to others can too.

showed up but i outran them.

I think this is going to vary hugely based on location. A bust in a US national park is going to be way different from interactions with The Law in ZA, or the UK, or Germany, or Baghdad. Other jumpers' history in dissimilar situations might not be super helpful to you.

confiscated gear in Germany, followed cops to station, immediately paid small fine, returned gear... smiled.

jumped big B, landed (almost on a cop) cop asked lots of questions, ending with how high it was so he could tell his friends... smiled.

issued a ticket for trespassing on state property (unfounded) went to magistrate, told him to go fuck himself, left without paying ticket. smiled.

Luckily I have not been caught by the cops yet,
but I have had to hide on a crane for about 45
minutes and dodge uniformed court guards.

The few civilians who haven seen me have ALL
been really cool, curious, and friendly plus the
ones who live next to my antennas so far have
all invited me back.

Land on security guy from well known building in paris, after trying to escape we start to fight, first against 2, then 3,4,5... got a broken feet from the fight finish in police station, they still have my rig, (1mounth) and i have also be military punish by my captain. But yeah that was awesome. Btw i jump with perfecto leather jacket and all star converse, is it the first base "perfecto n all star building jump to fight " #1
