off heading correction training "device"
hi everybody, to introduce myself
my name is paul, i have been reading this forum for more than a year now, started doing base specific training on my skydiveing gear, worked in a skydive shop to learn some rigging, read nearly every book i could find about base, been out there as groundcrew/photographer, got a mentor and some crazy new friends.
meanwhile i`ve got my own rig, and i`m currently learning to pack my troll and starting balloon jumpng to train dead air exits, plus i own a Go Pro. ;-)
I`ve had the idea to build a thing that helps automate gripping for your toggels and create muscle memmory to enhance speed and precission.
i`ve done some math and it works like this:
I have a Troll 265 MDV and had the break settings are set for slider up, so the mesurements are correct for my situation, but probably vary a bit with different gear, body height and height of your chin-up bar
i calculated that the rear risers have an angle of 21 degree from your vertical body height axis that means if you are 180cm like i`m and the chin up bar is 190cm your "body height axis" or let`s say your feet, have to be 11 cm from the position of the chin-up bar for the toggels to be in the right place
just messure theat distance from the bar, get the canopy over the chin-up bar and mount some (light!!!!!!!!) weight on the lines so the risers are under tension.
now the toggles are in the same spot as when under canopy..

I bult it because i like to train that like an army drill
I´d like to know what the expirienced people think about this...
and yeah i know there is no need to do extra training on this when you can practice it during opening when skydiving or on forgiving objects.
maybe that helps someone out there...
sorry for the spelling and grammar
cheers
paul
