Snekor
So i've been told by a number of people that you cant jump a snekor with the Line release mod on SD jumps. Has anyone out there done it anyway? Can anyone tell me why you cant? Sure looks to me that you could skip the ring on the risers, its only 3 inches further to the brake setting. Is the concern blown toggles? I cannot see the ring really helping out much.

To take this further, has anyone built line release toggles that work with the snekor? Similar to apexs WLO's...

Wingsuit base is the eventual goal and I really like the idea of chest toggles all the time. May as well get used to jumping the same thing all the time, good for muscle memory and all. But not stoked on the lack of being able to ditch a toggle if needed. And kinda defeats the purpose of always having the same configuration on every jump if you have to use different rig for SD jumps, the ones were reaction time and reaching the toggles quickly is most likely to matter the most.

i don't know a lot of specifics about the Snekor as i've never actually jumped one myself...

but, i do know a Swiss jumper who has done a fair number of jumps on one slider off. i also remember him bending a toggle pin on a jump as well. so, i don't really know what the point of that was... other than, sure you can do it... but stuff might happen. Tongue

Hey Nick,

The Snekor is designed as a wing suit/ slider up specific rig, not an all around rig. By the time you start wing suit basing, you'll want 2 rigs anyway. And you should be experienced enough to be able to adapt to different gear.

Chest toggles are also not very practical for a lot of slider down jumps where you have to climb, and crawl around on objects with lots of shit to snag on...

Just out of curiosity, even though it has been designed as SU environment in mind, is there particular design feature that makes it not suitable for SD? I would be very interested to hear what such feature would be. I would say that for example the Hybrid, although designed SU in mind, works also fine in SD.

With the Snekor you can stow the toggles on the risers like normal or you can stow them on your chest. The only negative thing for SD jumps is that the guide rings are necessary for stowing the toggle either way so your brakelines will go through the ring whether you are SU or SD.

Re: [cloudtramp] Snekor
Maybe late in the day to reply but you can change the risers, provided that you have the three ring cut away system installed from new and use standard risers. These are also provided as an option from FYB.

This rig has 100% benefit as a lightweight gear. With direct riser, direct harness, light canopy, it become a second skin , so much that on the first jumps you feel like you Forget to gear up !!!
I use it for track and wingsuit, and the invicibility toogle (chest) are very good!!! You grab them during the inflation séquence, and correct so quickly a wrong heading ! I definitly look my rig as a jewel !!! Go for it !!!

Re: [flyingbreizhou] Snekor
I just got the answer from Zun, the rigger:
-Slider down works, even if the rig was first not made for it. Anyway you NEED to keep the brake trought the risers ring. Otherwise the brake settings fucked up.
There is also an option ,with classic toogles on the risers.
-He is working on WLO toogle system, and will have the first load of it in the next week probably.

Re: [flyingbreizhou] Snekor
The toggles on invincibility risers have keepers made from plastic coated wire (same as "cut a way cables") with lower straight pins. They were therefore not (safely)recommended for slider down use with the brake lines routed outside the rings in case of a brake firing on deployment. Therefore no line release modification if you use them slider down.
