Suggestions for Royalty free music...
So does anyone have any good suggestions for royalty-free music?

I've checked out a few websites but almost all of it is like being ear-raped by chimps with synthesizers. Crazy

Thanks!

I was in the same situation a few years ago and after looking around I couldnt find anything that sounded like it was made after 1992.
If you just need something without vocals that can play behind a video then I would say making your own in Garage Band is the best bet.
The loops are super easy to work with and Apple keeps everything sounding contemporary and clean.

Good luck!

I believe By law you can use up to 29 seconds of copyrighted music on productions without consent, just find something that loops well and you should be in the clear

No, that only applies to educational and non-profit use.

we used to make motorcycle videos that were sold to the public and we used whatever music we wanted and never had any problems.

If you like classical, there is a project that takes donations and hires an orchestra to play pieces that are without copyright and they leave the performance recording rights free to the public for use as you see fit.
You don't have to pay anything to access the site and the free accounts offer greater access than their site's policy states.

Thanks for the help. I knew there had to be some decent stuff out there... just a matter of finding it!

I would recommend http://stockmusicboutique.com - small library but very high quality - no chimps on synths :)
