Always a padlock at the entrance and then nothing all the way up. The hatch in the nacelle is rubber/plastic turn knobs, make sure they're turned back to the original position, as well as any ladders or hatches at different stages of the climb are placed back how they were found. Fun stuff!!!!!!!!!

Re: [againsthumanity] wind turbines
Since most turbines are operated remotely have any of you ran into alarms or sensors on the main door at the bottom?

Seems like something that would be common, since the lines are already there to monitor the rest of the functions..

Re: [punkd] wind turbines
I have a few jumps from several different turbines and have never run into any security other than the one lock at the main hatch. The Nacelle has a motor that occasionally turns to remain into the wind. It kinda sounds like a siren but other then that no worries.

Re: [gauleyguide] wind turbines
Well, there are many kinds of turbines out there, all with their own different types of security systems. For example, in one NorCal area there are at least five different types of turbines. In one of them, while gearing up in the nacelle, I encountered an axe weilding troll, who I dispatched with my hook knife. Another type often has undead ninja twins on the roof and yet another has superbig anacondas on the ladders.

Just a heads up.

Re: [superradman] wind turbines
Thanks bro, I knew I wasn't hearing things in my head again. It's almost like someone or something was following me around in side that thing. I got spooked and split. I haven't slept much since then. I can't get it out of my head.

Re: [gauleyguide] wind turbines
I've run into technicians out there for turbine maintenance and the occasional farmer...but that's about it for human activity.

There are typically motion sensor lights above the door, but not hooked to alarms so far as I know Wink
