lurker/noob B.A.S.E. and online poker??
Ive lurked this forum and read a lot about BASE/skydiving for a few months now and finally signed up. (bought big book of BASE, etc)

I am most definately going to try skydiving but dont know if I'll ever have the risk tolerance to do BASE other than maybe groundcrewing. Anyways I'm posting to ask something I've been curious about for a while.

I'm curious how many, if any of you make a living or supplement your income playing online poker. I have played semiprofessionally (30%-50% of net income) for going on 3 years now. It seems that if you are a winning player it would be a perfect occupation for a B.A.S.E. jumper since your office can basically be anywhere in the world with wifi, own hours, high hourly rate....and obv the risk tolerance and risk management needed for professional gambling should come easy for people who succeeding and surviving in BASE.

Note that I am in no way here for any commercial reason (ie my next post is not going to be offering to teach you to play or anything like that). Just curious if the two worlds/hobbies mingled any. (i'm notR0lD4this on 2+2 if any of you are members)

[ ]male pornstars make close to what good poker players make

[ ] playing poker would be a profitable thing for every person who does BASE

[x] the ones that could beat online poker would get to jump abroad more often because of office portability and flexible schedule

[x] noob poster here and BASE virgin so apologies if suggestions/questions like this are somehow offensive

We have a guy at the DZ with a B.A in math who left a lucrative job to play online poker full time. Has been doing this for a couple of years. Seems to work for him.

yea a lot of bankers/brokers/lawyer types quit those jobs to play poker.

Likewise a lot of pro poker players are still in college and cut back poker to pursue "real" careers.

You can make 50k+ playing very low stakes with modest volume or playing midstakes with fairly low volume once you're good.
